The “Cart of Kindness” at the Tsaritsyno Hospice: How the Act of Mercy Took Place

On April 6, graduates of the first cohort of the Spiritual Development School at the "Tabor" Cultural Center organized the “Cart of Kindness” initiative at the Tsaritsyno hospice. This initiative continues the kind tradition of helping those who especially need attention and support.

During the visit, participants saw hospice patients, delivered treats, talked with the residents and staff, and then held a small tea party.

One participant, Ksenia, shared her impressions: “This time it struck me especially strongly—you can’t leave the same as before. The residents are such strong-spirited people; you want to learn from their resilience, and from the staff—their attention and ability to create a warm atmosphere for the sick.”

Hospice patients are elderly and seriously ill, for whom even a small gesture of attention can become a bright event in their day. Therefore, such visits are not only help but also an important human gesture, reflecting the words of Christ: “I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me…” (Matthew 25:36).

Victoria Kuzmenko, the organizer, wrote: “It was very nice to meet—so many bright, caring people. It’s joyful to do good deeds together!”

Yulia responded: “"Tabor", the Spiritual Development School, is not only about the Gospel and worship. It’s also about how to serve people. Thank you for the opportunity to touch your ministry.”

We thank everyone who participated in the initiative—in person or in spirit. And especially the hospice staff, who perform true acts of love and mercy every day.
